KL Towerthon 2010

KL Tower International Forest Towerthon Challenge 2010 was held yesterday in conjunction with the World's Forest Day. They were approximately 3000 participants turned up this year. We arrived as early as 7am to avoid heavy traffic and to be able to secure a parking spot close to the registration booth. The event flag off in stages for different category and our flag-off itself would only start at about 8.45am. While waiting, light breakfast consists of air kotak (i opt for chrysanthemum tea, high sugar for energy booster kunun), a bread and a slice of butter cake is served. Good enough utk lapik perut. Then there was a poco-poco performance, menarik but too bad i am to kecut-perut to enjoy the performance dude...

As the gun went off to announce the start of the race, we ran uphill about 1 km to the tower's base before the ultimate 2,058 stairs climb. Not even 100m, 'some' were already seen walking, sangat kasihan, awal-awal pecut mcm nak giler, pastu tewas di suku bukit. Climbing up 288 metres above ground level is not as easy as some psycho told ya it could be. Halfway through, the sweats dripping until my t-shirt wet to the skin, and i swear i could hear my heart beating and feels like it's going to explode out of my chest. Seriously, i experienced extreme exhaustion due to the lack of oxygen in the tower shaft (I know I'm a bit over-exaggerated), giler tak tahan tapi syukur, berjaya juga sampai and crossed the line with great relief.

Ya ampun, bersesak menunggu elevator to get down was the most mind-torturing part ever throughout the race. People pushing, screaming, cakap sekuat-kuat alam and i tell you, without enough kesabaran, someone surely kena with me. Dahlah serabut and stuffy, banyak pulak nak buat hal mmg bikin hati semua org panas. Hopefully next year ada improvement dari penganjur untuk kejadian turun ke bawah yer. After suffering for about 30 minutes, we managed to get ourselfves on the elevator. Fuh, lega. I pity all the tourists yang melawat KL Tower semalam. Semua pun siap kena bersesak-sesak sama dengan kami. Nasiblah wey, salah pilih hari hehe. Sampai bawah, pulangkan timing chip, collect our finisher's medal, goodie bag and later had our free big-breakfast. Siap ada nasi lemak daun pisang, bihun goreng, honeydew, dadih, chicken pie, apam beras and 3 cups of superbly delicious cooled MILO. It ain't too much isn't it? hehehe

Selepas kenyang, meleps dengan geng-geng runners sekejap then balik. I was totally drained out off the energy when i reached home. Rasanya 4hari 4malam pun ngak bisa kembali kepada kondisi normal. Apa-apapun, we had lots of fun together, insyaAllah with enough training i might be joining again next year.
